Mobile — Employee experience
MyDesk is a workplace management platform for hybrid offices. The mobile app is where employees meet the product — walking into the building, standing outside a meeting room, or realising at 8:40 that nothing is booked. It had been built as a compressed version of the desktop platform: six services weighted equally, none shaped around one-handed use in transit.
I redesigned the interface, flows and interaction model around what people actually open the app to do, while keeping it consistent with the Outlook, Teams and web surfaces of the same product.
Availability before commitment. The home screen shows live counts across all six services, so employees see how busy the office is before choosing anything rather than discovering it mid-flow.
One step for the common case. QR quick-booking claims the desk or room someone is already standing at, without entering a flow at all.
Designed for repetition. Preferred-seat selection and booking one seat across multiple days collapse a weekly repeated task into a single action.
Spatial selection over lists. Desk choice happens on a zoomable floor plan, because people pick seats by proximity to colleagues — information a seat ID can’t carry.
Shared structure, native expression. Step order and terminology match Outlook, Teams and web; the expression differs. The calendar leads in Outlook, the floor plan leads on mobile.
